Another Long Lost Update

Ok. Here we go again! Once again I forgot to update my blog. A LOT has happened since the last entry.
I was able to do a birthday party for my son's fifth birthday and it was a big hit. He loved the guests, the food, the gifts, the cake....well everything. After that I had to quit my job because big things came up and we decided that it was best for me to stay home again with my children. After that I was able to focus om my final classes that I had left and I was able to finish college and finally graduate and complete my goal. I was so proud that day. I am glad that I was able to get it done while I was here in Hawaii.
During this time my husband went ahead and did his re-enlistment ceremony in the USS Missouri in Pearl Harbor, HI. It was amazing. We got to meet so many navy officers it was amazing. I had never seen so many Navy men in their elegant attire in person before. My kids got to see a big boat, lots of fishes. My husband got an opportunity to swear in in front of all his battle buddies and I got to stand beside him proud of his accomplishments.
Ladies and gentleman we are moving to......Fort Drum, NY. We will be living there for five years. Now I know what you are thinking. What is an island girl going to do in snow weather? Well, I will be making lots of memories and having a new adventure.I have seen snow before but never in my life have I lived in it which is a very different thing. I am willing to accept that I will be quite upset when we first get there because of the weather conditions, etc. but who isn't upset when they first move somewhere new? There is way too much stress involved.
During the summer we decided to go on vacation a fly to the mainland to surprise my mother and visit the rest of the family. Of course plane tickets from Honolulu to Atlanta for a family of four was nowhere near affordable. But we decided that taking a Space A flight through the military would be our best shot and the most affordable way. Knowing that it was summer time, it was a risky decision because it is the busiest time of the year for these type of flights.
We didn't get lucky enough to hop on the flight that we wanted specifically but we were able to fly to Sacramento, CA and then drove all the way to Georgia. Which let me tell you it was not easy.

My mother was very emotional when I showed up at her door and surprised her. She was taken by surprise and had no clue at all that I was coming. I am glad that I got to see her, my sisters, I met another niece for the first time (which was exciting) and my kids got to see everyone in general. I was so glad that we got to do the trip. Coming back was a little harder but it was worth it at the end. Would I ever do it again from Hawaii NOPE! I think that depending what time of the year it is the better but again I think that military flights are more convenient if you are flying to Asia or Europe.
Another cool new thing that happened in August was the first day of Kindergarten for my son. I thought that I was going to be very emotional and not keep it together but I wasn't. I was so glad that he got to go to school. The best thing is...he loves it. Of course, he has his moments where he doesn't want to do the work but with a lot of time and patience we are getting there.
My daughter turned three in October. That was exciting. We didn't really do a big party or anything I just made her a cake here and later on we took her to Chuck E. Cheese and that was good enough for her. Immediately after that we started potty training and let me just say that as of right now, we are doing great so far. Sure there are a couple of bumps here and there but we are making progress. After that came my birthday. The big 2-6. I can't believe I am almost 30...time sure flies.
Now we are looking forward to the Holidays and of course getting everything ready to leave this island and start our new journey in a new place.

Till Next Time,
K~

WOW! So much to say!

Aloha!
So I know that it has been a long time since I did an entry. A lot has happened since my last post.
My son's surgery went very well. I couldn't be more happy about the choice we made for him. It has definetly cut back on my son taking medication all the time he was sick. My son turned 4 years old right after this surgery.
After the surgery went through and easter came along, I got an opportunity to work for Oceanic Time Warner Cable as a customer care representative. I have been blessed to be working and also busy with handling job, parenting, and full time job all at one time. I am thankful that I found a wonderful person to watch my kids while I am able to go to work and that I have made a great friendship with.
After the summer we did get some sad news that one of my kids' great grandmother had passed away. We had to take an emergency leave to go to the funeral and got an opportunity to see our other relatives and shows our kids our culture and show them around w
here we were born and grew up.
After this my mom was able to come visit us in Hawaii for the very first time. It was very exciting because I was glad that my mom had the opportunity to come out and see her babies, whom she misses every day. During her trip my daughter turned 2 and I turned 25.
I did get a chance to cook my first turkey in 2012 all alone with no family to help and my husband and friends loved it. After that later that night we went Christmas shopping during black Friday, which was exhausting but at the same time it was fun.
The holidays were good. We got a chance to attend a marriage retreat and my husband was finally promoted. I was very proud of my husband, especially when I placed his rank on his chest. Definetly a proud military spouse moment.
The kids really had a good Christmas. I finally got the purse that I wanted and was able to spend it safely with my family.
2012 did bring a lot of blessings and sadness to our lives but we are hoping for a fun-filled and loving 2013 full of blessings and joy.
We are going to be PCSing next year so hopefully we get a good choice and a place where we can also have fun and see the family more.
Salud!

Little bit of this and a little bit of that...

Sorry again,
It's been awhile since my last post. I have been very busy with my kids.
I did receive some good news this week: My son is going to be having small  tubes put inside his ears to help drain fluid out of his ear and prevent ear infections. I am so excited for him but nervous as well because I hope this works for him.
I went to the beach last week with my children. We got to encouter sea turtles in person even though we can't touch it, but it definetly made my kid's day. They were way too excited. If anyone is ever in the Ko'Olina area make sure to check out their beaches....definetly worth the trip.
That is all that I have to say, for now enjoy this picture.
Salud,

The return of Me...

Hello to all the readers,
I am so sorry that I have not been writing since December 2011. I was busy with the Holidays, Packing for my trip, New Years, and spending quality time with my family.
First off I would like to tell all of my readers Happy New Year, or like they say here in Hawaii Hau’oli Makahiki Hou. Second, I did have a nice trip to Atlanta, GA to visit my close relatives. The weather was cold, other times it was raining, but we got to see some flurries and great friends and family. My family and I got an opportunity to do a professional photo shoot during our trip and it was a lot of fun. Pictures of that will come as soon as I can get them posted on the blog. My trip back to the islands was longer than expected because I had one child not feeling well and another wired out of her mind junping on my lap and constantly opening the window shade of the airplane. I can't say that it wasn't fun but it's all part of the package of becoming a mother...Good Times.
Finally, we bought a second dog around the time that I was going to go on my trip and my husband got an opportunity to stay at home with both pets while I was gone and he went to work during the week. He said that dealing with two pets, working, and cleaning the house was a lot of work, and that if he had respect for me to be a mom and doing everything that has to be done in the house plus deal with children, is a big job. I am glad that he understands what myself and other moms like me do to get things done around the house everyday :-)
Our day today is going to be eventful. We are excited about the Superbowl this afternoon (or evening for some of you), my husband's family is usually divided when these two teams come together but overall is all in good fun. I am hoping that it is a fun and exciting game just like the one for last year. Last time the NY Giants and the Patriots went to the Superbowl, I was pregnant with my first child about to pop at any moment.
School is going great. It is getting harder for every block of classes that I take but I can't say that the classes are easy because they are not. There are moments where an assignment is very hard and I do not receive the grade that I want but that is what happens in school. I am excited about how this class is going to turn out. I have learned a lot not only from my textbooks, but from all of my peers that are in this class as well earning the same degree that I am.
The husband and I have been going out a lot and spending a lot of time together. I enjoy doing this with him because it's not only fun for the both of us, but it is also therapeudic for myself.
Here is a picture from our last date that we had. Until the next entry...K

Kamila is walking

So my daughter is a year old already and no walking yet. She does move around holding on to things here and there but she is always walking during the main part of her day. After daddy finished working on the car she just felt like walking around the house with daddy when he let go of her hands. As soon as he did not she couldn't stop herself from walking and laughing at the same time. She really loves her daddy. I can't wait to see her on the go all by herself with nothing to grab on even if that means that she is going to get into more trouble than she does now.

Enjoy the video!
